Thanks to our many long-standing employees, we can draw on a wealth of specialist knowledge. We not only use this expertise to manufacture high-quality jewelry, but also offer our knowledge as a service. One part of this is jewelry appraisals.
As of July 01, 2024, Stadelmann 1972 will no longer offer inheritance valuations.
The most requested estimate is whether jewelry is purchased by us. We effectively offer to take over jewelry in our Trouvaille, but on a commission basis, not with direct purchase. The procedure for this can be found here as a separate page "The Trouvaille".
The jewelry value of a trouvaille basically consists of the material value of the precious metal and the stones it contains on the valuation date. We make sure that our customers receive slightly higher proceeds for the precious metal than when it is melted down in order to keep the sale of our trouvaille attractive.
We are often asked whether we can tell whether precious metals or gemstones are genuine after a brief appraisal. In the case of precious metals, this is usually possible through a brief examination, after which we can verbally inform the customer of the suspected fineness.
We charge CHF 5.00 / piece of jewelry for this service.
In the case of gemstones, this is usually more complicated than customers expect, as synthetic gemstones are often produced as naturally as possible. For this reason, they are carefully tested in our laboratory. We can also offer verbal estimates here, but these are not immediately realizable. The costs depend on the situation and no fixed flat rate can be given. These are evaluated in each case during the consultation.
Inheritance appraisals are estimates of the value of an inheritance. They relate to the value of the assets, in this case jewelry or similar, that pass from the deceased to their heirs.
Bijouterie Stadelmann 1972 will no longer offer such estimates from July 01, 2024.
An insurance appraisal refers to the valuation of one or more pieces of jewelry for insurance purposes; it is important so that the insurance company can charge the customer the appropriate insurance premium that the person taking out the insurance must pay in order to be optimally insured against loss or damage to the piece of jewelry.
As of July 1, 2024, Stadelmann 1972 will only offer insurance valuations for custom-made jewelry.
